Tiptap Studio

Troubleshooting

Opening unsigned builds and measuring performance.

macOS says the app is damaged or cannot be opened

Builds named -unsigned are not notarized, so Gatekeeper blocks them. Clear the quarantine flag once after copying the app to Applications:

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine "/Applications/Tiptap Studio.app"

Official releases are signed and notarized and do not need this.

Windows SmartScreen warns on launch

The Windows build is not code-signed. Choose More info, then Run anyway.

Linux: the app does not start

Tiptap Studio renders with Vulkan. Make sure a Vulkan driver is installed (for example Mesa's) along with libxkbcommon, libxkbcommon-x11, libxcb, libwayland-client and fontconfig.

A file does not open

When a document fails to parse, the window shows the error with its line and column and an excerpt of the file, instead of closing. Fix the file and open it again, or pick another from the recent files listed there.

Measuring performance

Set TIPTAP_STUDIO_PROFILE=1 to print timings of the hot paths to stderr: loading and parsing, building the tree and preview, recomputing find and diff results, applying edits and their undo, and the time from an interaction to the next frame.
